Panther Creek Cabin

Panther Creek Cabin is a secluded cabin situated on one private acre nestled between the mountain ridges and along the Big Reed Island Creek in beautiful southwest Virginia. While there is one neighboring seasonal home on the driveway side separated by a dense tree line, you will not see another home in site.  A great place for romance, reconnecting with loved ones or outdoor adventure, Panther Creek Cabin will make you feel like you have a corner of the world all to yourself! Immerse yourself in a warm, relaxing hot tub or enjoy a crackling fire in the fire pit as you listen to the soothing sounds of a flowing creek. Need to get some work done? No problem! Connect to the free Starlink High Speed Internet and find out what the rest of the world is doing. There is a smart TV with local channels and access to your favorite apps like Netflix and Hulu. If you feel like stretching your legs, take a right turn out of the driveway for a short walk to see a beautiful waterfall that the locals call  'Hole in the Wall' but please do not trespass.  For a more challenging stretch, continue up the road to nearby Fall Branch Trail (public road) to see the magnificent views of the creek from up high.  

House rules to be aware of prior to booking Panther Creek Cabin:

• Guests must be 25 years old or older to rent the cabin.  
• A signed rental agreement is required as well as a valid credit card for a security deposit "hold". Failure to provide either within 3 days of arrival will prevent the arrival instructions with door code from being sent.  Please feel free to ask if you have any questions!
• Check-in is at 3 pm, and check-out is at 10 am. Early check-in or late check-out may be available, but please ask!  An unauthorized late checkout may cost you $25 per 30 min for failure to vacate the premises as it impacts the schedule of our cleaning person. 
• There is no cell service at the cabin. Guests must be able to connect to the internet at the cabin and use wi-fi calling to text and make phone calls.
• Pets are not allowed.  Hunting is not allowed.
• There is no trash service in this area. We ask that you please place your trash in the outside receptacle and close the lid tightly or you will encounter undesired wildlife! 
• Fishing is welcome, but Virginia requires a Virginia Freshwater Fishing License. Licenses can be purchased online at the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources website. 
• Panther Creek Cabin was once an old schoolhouse and also served as a post office.  The stairs to the bedroom (loft area) are steep and narrow. Upstairs Panther Creek Cabin has one queen size bed, a half bath and is best suited for couples.
• You may see various wildlife such as geese, otter, racoons, turkeys, deer, opossum, skunk or an occasional bear.  Please do not approach the wildlife!
• Our cabin is cleaned and sanitized after every departure. The hot tub filter is cleaned and sanitized after every stay, and replaced on a schedule. There are rules for enjoying the hot tub.  Read and understand the rules prior to arrival. You acknowledge you have read and understand the rules and cancellation policy when you sign the rental agreement. There will be a charge for unscheduled hot tub drain/refill. A copy of the rental agreement can be provided prior to booking upon request. 
• We provide a small amount of free firewood and other items needed to get a fire started in the outdoor fire pit. More wood is available for purchase upon request. Ask host for details. 
• For winter and early spring bookings (December through April):  A four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle is recommended in case of inclement weather.
• You will be offered to purchase travel insurance from a third party during checkout.  We recommend purchasing travel insurance for unexpected events that may require you to cancel your reservation.  
• The Booking email and Arrival instructions will be sent from MTNCREEK LLC.  Please check your junk/spam email if you have not received these very important documents.  The booking email is sent just after booking.  The arrival instructions are sent 3 days prior to arrival and will include your door code.  Contact host if you need them resent.  

Panther Creek Cabin comes equipped with a full kitchen and everything you need to cook indoors or out with the exception of a conventional full size oven.

The folks who live and play along the creek are incredibly wonderful people and many are good friends of ours, so wave back as you pass and if you get a chance, talk to them!

Panther Creek Cabin is 8 miles from the Allisonia entrance to the New River Trail for hiking, biking, or launching a boat. Parking at and using the boat launch is free. Panther Creek Cabin is also close to Iron Heart Winery, and within a short driving distance to many other great places like Hillsville, Floyd, Christiansburg, Radford, Wytheville, Galax, Mt.
